Chavela Trujillo
Founder & Main Instructor
Hi everyone! I am Chavela Trujillo the sole owner and founder of Extreme Horseback. I started this business in 2017 after seeing the positive impact horses have on others. I grew up riding and working with horses which became a passion. Over the years I gained many achievements such as Senior Buckle All-Around Grand Champion Horse exhibitor at the Rio Arriba County fair for 2013, 2015, and 2016. I also had the honor of being named the 2016 Rio Arriba County Fair and Rodeo Queen where I represented the County at Rodeos, Fairs, and Parades. I have also participated in rodeo and livestock events for more than 10 years. My past students have gone on to achieve titles such as 2018 Rio Arriba County Fair and Rodeo Princess and won buckles at rodeos and showmanship events. I look forward to working with you!

Hi, I'm the boss around here. I was the first to help with lessons starting our journey in 2017! I'm a 10-year-old Sorrel Quarter Horse. I am calm, sweet, and love working with children and beginners! I have competed in multiple rodeos over the years and even helped students win buckles! My favorite snack is apples.

Hi! I am a 20-year-old tobiano Paint. I am the oldest of the heard but don't let that full you! I love to run and have a competitive streak. In my younger days, I won many rodeo and event titles! I help students go from beginner to intermediate riders.

Howdy! I am the newest member of the team. I am a 19-year-old Palomino Quarter horse. I used to do a lot of roping and helping out on the ranch. I like to work with all levels of riders and teach them new skills.

Hi-ya! I am a 5 year old grulla quarter horse. I am full of sass and spunk! You will see me helping out Chavela when it comes to advanced training. I have a need for speed and am in training for speed events.
